Antique Brass Lion Tiger Figure Top Opening

Hello, you are viewing my auction for an Antique Brass Lion Tiger Figure with an Unusual Top Opening.  This lion tiger figure weighs 1.8 pounds and measures 7 and 3/4" long by 4" tall by 2" wide.  It is in good condition with minor wear present.  There are no breaks, bends, or repairs.  A magnet will not stick to the metal.  I am unsure why there is a top opening.  It appears that something may have slid inside however I am uncertain.  There are 2 metal spikes in the interior.   I have shown this in the photographs that I have provided.
