Unique Lot of 4 Dunhill Service Lighters and 3 Windproof Lighter Sterling Silver.
In this lot I have 3 Vintage Sterling Silver Dunhill Windproof Trench Lighter in Box Comes with box, rope wicks & instructions. See photos for conditions. Bottom of all boxes have a retail sticker that reads “Lord & Taylor New York R6 28 34 5.00”. Cool pieces of history here. These rope style lighters worked as the rope smoldered rather than creating a flame. This protected the soldier from being seen when he used the lighter. These date mostly to 1946
I also have 4 Dunhill service lighters. 1 is marked Sterling and is monogrammed “HSK”. 1 comes in its original box and is grey enamel. Another is without box and black enamel. The final one here is wrapped in a black leather. These all date mostly to 1943.
I have not tested any of these lighters.
