Description
Next up for sale is a really neat, what I believe is a fuse pouch from the American Civil War. I acquired it over 40 years ago at a National Artillery shoot in Winchester Virginia. It is thick brown leather square construction, with front and inner flaps, a brass finial riveted to a burr inside. This could be a buggy type harness, stud, not the typical finial. The box measures 5”1/4 long by 2” inches wide and 3”inch’s high. The flap is part of the rear wall and wraps around the box. The belt loop is also sewn to the box and measures 3” by 3” inches and appears to have been on a belt for a long time with some weight in the box. This is an extremely well made box with no markings what so ever, see our pictures.
Cannot tell for sure who made it, could be Southern made, but it is a very neat box.
