    Description

    Unissued original exquisite imitation embroidery Civil War US militia officer's brass hat insignia made by Frederick Key for Horstmann in August 1861. 3 inches wide.   Lightly tarnished. No bends or dents. Both wires on reverse.
    As seen figure 350 in Campbell & O'Donnell's "Headgear Insignia"
