Experts who have conducted scientific
experiments are convinced that the colour
red does not particularly excite a bull.
They found that a bull paid as much
attention to green as to red, and still more
to white. It was most aroused by any
fluttering object. What makes a bull
violent when a red rag is waved in front of
it is the fluttering movement of the cloth.
Red is the traditional colour for a bull-
fighters cape but the colour has nothing
to do with the bull's behaviour. It would
get equally enraged if a cape of another
colour was waved in front of it. A whole
herd of bulls was once provided with red
veils as an experimentand didnt mind
a bit!
